Information on out-of-court dispute resolution and the option of filing a lawsuit

The bank participates in the dispute resolution procedure of the German cooperative banking group. Therefore, private customers, corporate customers, as well as non-customers whose application for a basic account agreement has been rejected, have the possibility to contact the ombudsman for the cooperative banking group (http://www.bvr.de/de/Service/Kundenbeschwerde) to settle disputes with the bank.

Further details are regulated by the "Procedural Rules for out-of-court
settlement of customer complaints in the area of the German cooperative banking group," which can be provided upon request. The complaint must be submitted in written form (e.g. by letter or e-mail) to the customer complaint office at the Bundesverband der Deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken - BVR, Schellingstraße 4, 10785 Berlin, e-mail: kundenbeschwerdestelle@bvr.de (http://www.bvr.de/de/Service/Kundenbeschwerde).

If the subject matter of the complaint is a dispute within the scope of the payment services law (Sections 675c to 676c of the German Civil Code, Article 248 of the Introductory Act to the German Civil Code, Section 48 of the Payment Accounts Act, and provisions of the Payment Services Supervision Act), there is also the possibility to file a complaint with the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority. The procedural rules are available from the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority. The address is: Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht, Graurheindorfer Straße 108, 53117 Bonn.

In addition, there is also the possibility to file a complaint directly with the bank. The bank will respond to complaints in written form (e.g. by letter, fax, or e-mail). For more specific information, especially regarding contact details, please refer to our guidelines for handling complaints.

The European Commission provides a platform for out-of-court online dispute resolution (known as the OS platform) at http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.
