Imke Jacob becomes General Executive Manager of DZ BANK – Succession planning for Thomas Ullrich

Imke Jacob (39) will become General Executive Manager of DZ BANK AG as of 1 October 2024. She will initially continue to perform her duties as Head of Strategy & Group Development. With the planned departure of Thomas Ullrich, who will retire on 30 June 2025 after 25 years of successful service on the Board of Managing Directors, Imke Jacob will gradually take over management responsibility for the Bank's Transaction Banking divisions as Chief Representative. Responsibility on the Board of Managing Directors for these areas will initially be transferred to CIO Dr. Christian Brauckmann on 1 July 2025.

On 1 July 2026, Imke Jacob will join the Board of Managing Directors of DZ BANK and assume responsibility for Transaction Banking. Henning Deneke-Jöhrens, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DZ BANK: "We are pleased to be able to arrange the succession in this important business area for the Bank at an early stage with this step. With Imke Jacob, we are gaining a colleague who will provide important impetus with her background of experience."  

Imke Jacob has been responsible for Strategy & Group Development at DZ BANK since November 2023. She is also a member of the Supervisory Boards of VR Factoring GmbH, Reisebank AG and Deutsche WertpapierService Bank AG. Born in Bremen, she studied business administration at the University of Mannheim and the Guanghua School of Management in Beijing and completed her doctorate at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management. She began her professional career in 2010 at Deutsche Bank, where she held management positions in the Private and Business Clients division in Frankfurt and Madrid until 2016.

Most recently, Imke Jacob was a partner at McKinsey & Company in the New York office, where she was co-head of Commercial & Corporate Banking. She is married with two children.
