Stefan Beismann to succeed Uwe Berghaus on the Board of Managing Directors of DZ BANK
Long-serving Board Member for Corporate Banking set to retire on 31 July 2025
At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of DZ BANK AG appointed Stefan Beismann, currently Head of the Bank's Central Corporate Banking division, to succeed Uwe Berghaus as of 1 August 2025. After more than twenty years with the Cooperative Financial Network, Uwe Berghaus (61) will retire at his own request on 31 July 2025 on reaching the age of 62. He was on the Board of Managing Directors of WGZ BANK for 15 years and, following the merger of the two banks, of DZ BANK AG since 2016, where he was responsible for the Corporate Banking throughout.

Stefan Beismann (47) will become the Bank's General Executive Manager with effect from 1 January 2025 until he joins the Board of Managing Directors. Henning Deneke-Jöhrens: "In Stefan Beismann, we have gained a very experienced colleague for this role on the Board who knows our customers and the cooperative organisation inside out. We are confident that we will be able to continue the successful development of DZ BANK's Corporate Banking with him and are very much looking forward to working with him in the future."
Beismann can look back on a long career at DZ BANK. Since joining the bank in 2001, he has worked as a corporate client advisor for clients in a wide range of sectors and regions. In 2016, the Bank entrusted him with the management of the Corporate Clients North & East region based in Hamburg. From 2018 to July 2024, he worked for Sparkasse Heidelberg, most recently as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors. He returned to DZ BANK in September 2024.
Beismann studied business administration at Mannheim Professional Academy from 1998 to 2001, graduating with a degree in business administration. He lives with his family in Mainz.
